Self-Esteem Group for Girls
Is your daughter struggling to make her own choices? constantly pleasing others? using negative self-talk or doubting her body image? If your daughter has a hard time standing up for herself or being her own “best friend”, this is the right group for her!
Harmony Counselling is offering a Self-Esteem Counselling group for girls between the ages of 9 and 12 years old! This 8-week program focused on building self confidence and a strong sense of self by using core components of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Self-Compassion Approach, as well as Narrative Therapy.
This therapy group will also provide pre-adolescents with the opportunity to learn what healthy self-esteem entails, develop strong self-confidence, recognize their strengths, establish and stick to healthy boundaries, learn how to use positive self-talk, and build self-compassion.
With today’s society being heavily influenced by social media, the group also strives to teach each participant how to navigate social media healthily and positively. The group will provide different coping strategies and tools for each participant to take home. We hope to set each member up for success in navigating their complex and influenceable adolescent and pre-teen years.
Through group discussions, individual reflections, games, open discussions, worksheets, and interactive videos, each member of this group has the opportunity to achieve their goals, work with like-minded peers, and form meaningful connections.
